Germany - Magdeburg to Minden

The bible story of the ten virgins who attend a wedding with and without gifts is depicted at one of the entrances to Magdeburg Cathedral (bottom right). They date back to the 1250s with each figure different with ethnic Slavic features. The five foolish virgins show their sorrow and the five wise virgins show their joy.
